William Sears about 1990. Sears is a pediatrician who developed attachment parenting based on the work of Jean Liedloff. The basic idea in attachment parenting is that extensive, responsive interaction and regular physical contact between child and parent is essential for healthy development. I try to use the ideas of attachment parenting consistently in working with the children in my care.
